DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS
The KST has been working in partnership with at least 7 partners from the public and private sectors to address four interconnected development challenges namely food insecurity, malnutrition, the effect of climate change, poverty and provision of support to health issues
in handling the influx of Burundi refugees in Kigoma Region. These projects have significantly contributed to the Agriculture Sector Development Programme II (ASDP II) priorities and they are within the SDG framework. The interventions in the Burundi refugee crisis assisted the government and the UNHCR to sustain reduction of post-operative and peri- and postnatal infection for the refugees and host communities in Kigoma.
